Overview
The Superline® XD Industrial is our toughest winch line yet. It’s made with a double braided construction designed to endure the harsh work environments in industrial and military applications. The inner core is made of heat set Dyneema® SK75, which offers unparalleled breaking strength. A Dyneema® cover is braided over the entire line to provide protection against abrasion and UV damage.
Dyneema® Protective Jacket: Normal synthetic winch lines are susceptible to getting grit, such as dirt or sand, caught in the fibers of the line when in use. This grit will cause abrasion and wear on the interior fibers of the rope as it is tensioned, which will significantly decrease it’s breaking strength over time.
Unlike your normal winch line, the Superline® XD is a double braid which consists of an inner core that supports all the load, and an outer cover that protects the core. The cover is made with highly abrasion resistant Dyneema® fiber that provides excellent abrasion protection and completely prevents grit from getting to the core. It also provides 100% UV protection. This makes the Superline® XD the most durable and longest lasting winch line available.
Compared to our regular Superline® XD, the Industrial series has a thicker braided cover for even more abrasion resistance and longevity.
Heat Set Dyneema®: The inner core of the Superline® XD Industrial goes through a heat setting process which gives it an extremely high breaking strength. This is crucial for a double braid line, since the cover adds diameter but doesn’t increase breaking strength. This makes the Superline® XD stronger than any other double braid line that doesn’t use a heat set core.
The heat set process also makes the core very dense, which makes a much better base for the cover to be braided on.
